The Dajur Chronicles
The elves of the heavily foreasted northwestern peninsula of Dajur are a peaceful, contemplative race, much more inclined to learning, the arts, and meditation than their wilder brethren the jungle elves. While both races of elves esteem beauty above almost all other virtues, the forest elves tend to express and appreciate beauty in more cerebral and spiritual, rather than physical, pursuits. They are generally perceived as far more subdued than their southern kin.
The elven civilzation within the forest is highly advanced in both science and magic, but somewhat secretive and isolationist. Scattered accounts exist of the elven strongholds in the heart of the forest, but none can say definitively if these are true glimpses of the elves’ hidden world, or deliberate misdirection.
Some forest elves ultimately choose to leave the forest, to experience and contemplate beauties beyond the arboreal. Often these elves resettle in human communities; a classic example of this is the coastal village of Finnail.
